Journal: Welcome to English 105

(Unity) I have learned the name of our most honorable instructor, writing coach, and guide for this English 105 Freshmen II composition hybrid-in-progress class is Professor Barbara Gill-Mayberry. This class presents face-to-face opportunities with the instructor and the teacher assistants and also presents online-meet ups, hence the name hybrid-in-progress class. (Development) One way Professor Mayberry gets to know others are by telling others something about her many others do not know. In this instance, she explored her love for oboe and many other wind instruments. However, her love stays with the joys and challenges that come with teaching. Professor’s adoption of a mixed Pomeranian, Hero, shows her love for dogs. This course will be utilizing Blackboard 9.1 to achieve its online meetings as students will be forced to adapt to the changes along this new course and environment. (Coherence) This is a new experience for Professor Gill Mayberry as well as students in terms of teaching a hybrid-in-progress class. It is something yours truly has never experienced before, but will be willing to cooperate to make everything as fluent as possible.

(Development) As the class move along, students will be asked to keep an editing log, indicating the mistakes make in the past and how it has been improved or avoided. Students will be asked to switch roles between a learner, as well as a reliable peer editor for his or her peers. Face- to- face meetings indicated students must be active on making appointments and socialize with the many teach assistances available to further improve rhetorical and writing skills. Last but not least, students will be forced to read a plethora of readings in order to catch on with the rapid pace of the class.
